International Trucks Lead the Charge: Delivering Wisconsin’s First Electric
School Buses

Madison, Wis. — Lakeside International Trucks, in
collaboration with Midstates International Trucks, is proud to announce a
groundbreaking initiative that will electrify the school transportation
landscape in Wisconsin. By the end of this year, six state-of-the-art electric
school buses will be delivered to the Palmyra-Eagle Area School District, with
an additional bus set for the Random Lake School District.

This momentous achievement has been made possible through the Clean Bus Program Award, a grant funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law of 2021, which authorizes the EPA
to offer rebates to replace existing school buses.

The Palmyra-Eagle Area School District is set to make
history by being the first in the state of Wisconsin to register electric school buses. This achievement signifies a leap forward in the pursuit of cleaner and more sustainable transportation solutions for schoolchildren.

Dousman Transport Company, in partnership with the
Palmyra-Eagle Area School District, was awarded a grant totaling $2.4 million
to facilitate the acquisition and installation of six electric buses, along
with the necessary electronic charging infrastructure. These cutting-edge
electric school buses, purchased through IC Bus, are expected to be delivered
in the coming weeks.

Dr. Ryan Krohn, District Administrator of the Palmyra-Eagle Area School District, expressed his excitement about this momentous endeavor:
“I am delighted to share the news about the successful EPA grant
application, which is a part of our commitment to partnership, community, and a
promising future for our school district. This grant will enable us to move our
fleet to 100% electric buses, which we anticipate will provide numerous
benefits aligned with our district mission.”

The introduction of electric buses will not only provide a
healthier and more eco-friendly transportation solution but also offer students
a quieter and smoother ride to and from school. The International IC electric
buses are capable of traveling approximately 135 miles on a single charge,
making them a reliable and sustainable option for the roughly 325 students who
currently rely on school buses in the Palmyra-Eagle Area School District.

Lakeside International Trucks is committed to advancing the
Electric Vehicle initiative in Southern Wisconsin, and their involvement in
this project is a testament to their dedication. The company has invested in
Level 2 and is soon to install Level 3 DC fast chargers, and their
factory-trained EV Certified Diesel Technicians are well-equipped to support
the emerging Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) market.

Lakeside International Trucks, along with Midstates International Trucks, is proud to be at the forefront of the transition to electric school buses, ensuring a cleaner, more sustainable, and eco-friendly future for school transportation in Wisconsin.
